“Annie” is almost here!! Do not miss your chance to see it.

Day Middle School students present the HIT BROADWAY MUSICAL ANNIE.

The Day drama students proudly present the Broadway musical monster-hit Annie. Annie is one of Broadway’s longest running shows ever, full of great songs and the delightfully heart-warming tale of the Depression-era orphan girl who finds happiness with a grouchy millionaire and his loving Gal.

Originally opening on Broadway in 1977 and running for an amazing 2,377 performances, Annie is based on the beloved comic strip that debuted in 1924. It’s a big-hearted musical for the whole family, complete with adorable orphans, a loveable dog, lots of great singing and dancing, a live radio broadcast, a Christmas party, all of New York City on one stage (well, almost), and a happy ending for everybody.

When Annie first opened on Broadway, Clive Barnes said in the New York Times, “Annie is an intensely likeable musical. You might even call it lovable.” Douglas Watt in the Daily News called it a “big, splashy, sentimental, old-fashioned musical.” And Martin Gottfried of the New York Post wrote, “Annie is at the heart of musical comedy; big, warmhearted, funny, and over-flowing with spirit.” The show has music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and a book by Thomas Meehan.

When : March 22 & 23 at 7:30 PM and March 24 @ 3 PM.

Where: Day Middle School Auditorium

All tickets are $10 for reserved seating, and they are going fast!

Students may purchase as many tickets as they need  at lunches until the shows sell out!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who donated to this year’s fund drive. We have raised $30,000. You can’t even begin to imagine how much this means to the teachers.

We have already bought a Mac Laptop cart complete with 10 laptops. We will now be able to buy another complete laptop cart, a bunch of document camera’s (which the teachers love), some projectors and new PC’s for the PC lab. This is on top of the entire Mac Lab the PTO purchased for the school after last year’s fund drive. An official thank you letter and tax receipt will go out in the next few weeks.

Thank you to all the parents who helped with the fund drive, sending emails, stuffing envelopes, etc. We could not have done it without your help.

A special thanks to the local businesses who donated our incentive raffle prizes:
