Important Election Information on Ballot
Question 1
On Election Day, you will be asked to vote on
Question 1, a statewide ballot initiative calling to
repeal the state income tax.
If passed, this initiative would result in a 40%
decrease in the state budget and consequently,
a dramatic decrease in all state
funding including our public schools.
The School Committee and PTO Council Board
voted to support a "No" vote.
The PTO Council Board and the Newton
League of Women Voters is sponsoring an event
to educate voters about Ballot Question 1.
Sunday, October 19th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00
p.m. : Newton League of Women Voters in
partnership with Newton PTO Council will host a
discussion forum at the home of Alderwoman Vicki
Danberg 30 Chase Street Newton Centre. Speakers
include: Senator Cynthia Creem and a
representative from the City of Newton. Read Globe
